Job Description:

This is a 2nd shift role, the work schedule is: Monday-Friday, 2pm-10pm Pacific Time SUMMARY The Process Technician trouble-shoots and resolves complex production problems with all molded products, ensures that all new materials and molds undergo proper testing, and makes adjustments to machinery and auxiliary equipment to eliminate flaws. Identifies product defects, compiles data on all processing parameters, and directs the training of new employees. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs machine start-ups, set-ups. Troubleshoots problems that may arise. Adheres to customer specifications and accurately documents all records related to downtime, production, scrap, repairs, process deviation, etc. Maintains set-up sheets up to date and documents all production delays.
  • Provides detailed and structured documentation of process corrections and enhancements as required and/or assigned.
  • Makes tooling recommendations and participates in material trials. Assists in the training of technical and production personnel in processing standards. Participates in the enhancement of the process to increase cycle efficiency, press performance, tool performance, operator performance, and material performance. Participates and supports all continuous improvement efforts. Assists and performs color changes and mold set-ups.
  • Actively supports Pelican's commitment to Quality and all quality objectives, with an emphasis on continual improvement. Follows company policies and practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook and/or applicable employment agreement. Follows safety guidelines and procedures in accordance to the job. Performs additional duties as assigned. JOB REQUIREMENTS
    • Associates degree or technical degree preferred.
    • Minimum of 1-2 years experience in a manufacturing environment; injection plastic molding environment preferred.
    • Basic knowledge of plastic injection molding machinery and operations, auxiliary equipment and mold set-up procedures.
    • Basic knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, and mechanical operations.
    • Excellent knowledge of plant and machine safety
    • Must have excellent math skills and the ability to work with measurements and ratios. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

      • Must be able to interact effectively and cooperatively with employees at all levels.
      • Must have the ability to complete assignments within the timeframe specified by the Manager.
      • Must be flexible regarding working hours and overtime. Must be able to work overtime on evenings and weekends, with or without advanced notice.
      • Must be able to operate in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
        • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be frequently required to execute standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e. stand, walk, sit, use hands/fingers).
        • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be frequently required to execute non-standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e. climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch).
        • Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. The approximate base compensation range is shown below.
